The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved TANTRANSCO to lease substation land for deploying 1000 MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across six locations. Backed by central Viability Gap Funding, the project aims to address grid instability from the state’s 23,940 MW renewable capacity.
