The first 80 units of the 500MW/2,000MWh Collie battery energy storage system in Western Australia have been installed by state-owned Synergy, with completion expected in 2025. Funded by AU$2.3 billion from the state budget, the project aims to support renewable energy and manage peak loads. Premier Roger Cook highlighted its significance for clean, reliable energy.
