Surat Municipal Corporation launched India’s first solar-powered smart bus depot in Althan, featuring a 100 kW rooftop solar plant and 224 kWh battery storage. Developed under the Solar City initiative with German agency GIZ, the depot offers 24×7 green charging for electric buses using repurposed second-life batteries.
