Statkraft is advancing its 400MW Shetland Hydrogen Project 2 after securing land near Scatsta Airport. The project will produce green hydrogen and ammonia to support shipping and fertiliser decarbonisation using excess renewable energy. Located near Shetland’s oil terminal and gas plant, it will convert surplus power into hydrogen during grid constraints.
