SSE has begun construction on its £400 million, 208 MW Strathy South wind farm in Sutherland, near its existing Strathy North site. The project will feature 35 Vestas turbines and is expected to begin operations in late 2027, generating enough electricity to power 200,000 British homes. Fully contracted under the UK Government’s CfD scheme, it supports national clean energy goals.
