Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has launched a qualification round for 3 GW/12,000 MWh battery energy storage projects across six locations in Saudi Arabia. Each project will have 500 MW/2,000 MWh capacity with 4-hour storage and be developed under a build-own-operate model. The RFQ was issued on April 23, 2026, with a May 5 deadline.
