India’s solar industry has urged the government to provide ₹20,000–25,000 crore in viability gap funding to develop 50 GW of domestic ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity. The National Solar Energy Federation of India also proposed allocating 10% of the funding to ancillary solar equipment industries and sought ₹3,000–4,000 crore incentives for solar manufacturing machinery.
