Chinese contractor Sepco has won the contract to build the 500 MW/2,000 MWh Al Khushaybi Battery Energy Storage System in Qassim, Saudi Arabia, also known as Group 1-KSB Independent BESS. Part of the kingdom's first wave of large-scale BESS, the project will improve grid flexibility and resilience, delivering 500 MW for four hours.
