Pratt & Whitney has introduced the Hydrogen Steam-Injected, Intercooled Turbine Engine (HySIITE), a cutting-edge propulsion system designed for aviation. This engine aims to achieve zero in-flight CO2 emissions and up to an 80% reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The innovative semi-closed system architecture is designed to achieve greater thermal efficiency than fuel cells and reduce operating costs compared to sustainable aviation fuels.
