The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved GRIDCO’s proposal to develop a 125 MW/500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project with Viability Gap Funding of ₹90 crore across six substations. The project, implemented through SECI-led tariff-based competitive bidding, will be executed in clusters by Coal India Ltd.
