NTPC Studies Two Odisha Sites for 3,200 MW Nuclear Plants

NTPC Ltd, with NPCIL, is conducting feasibility studies at two sites in Odisha's Deogarh and Nabarangpur districts for a proposed 3,200 MW nuclear power plant, after two of four initially identified sites were found unsuitable, ACS Energy Vishal Kumar Dev said Tuesday. Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati said nuclear could be an important, economical source if safety measures are strictly followed, with officials stressing no compromise on safety.
