NTPC’s board has approved a ₹5,821.9 crore investment to develop a 4.70 GWh Battery Energy Storage System, strengthening grid flexibility and renewable integration. Additionally, it approved ₹3,173.67 crore equity infusion in Meja Urja Nigam (MUNPL) for the 3x800 MW Stage-II expansion. With this, NTPC’s total equity commitment in the JV will rise to ₹5,000 crore.
