India’s NIIF, KKR, and Sembcorp are competing to acquire Shell’s Sprng Energy, marking one of the largest renewable M&A deals this year. Shell, which bought Sprng three years ago for $1.5 billion, owns a 5 GW generation portfolio and has funded its expansion. The contenders submitted non-binding offers in December, with Macquarie also reportedly bidding.
