Nel Hydrogen US, a subsidiary of Norwegian company Nel ASA, has received a purchase order for a 2.5 MW containerized PEM electrolyzer for the Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub project in Scotland. This facility, powered by renewable energy, aims to produce, store, and distribute green hydrogen. The project is a joint venture between BP and Aberdeen City Council, with plans to scale production for various uses, including transportation and heating.
