The Ministry of Power (MoP) has set a benchmark price of Rs. 2.32 per 1000 kcal for biomass pellets, effective September 1, 2023, to promote biomass use in thermal power generation in the NCR. This initiative supports sustainable energy goals, streamlines procurement for power utilities, and aims to reduce coal dependency while enhancing renewable resource adoption.
