Dutch startup Moonwatt has unveiled modular sodium-ion battery storage solutions for utility-scale solar projects at Smarter E Europe 2026 in Munich. Available in DC- and AC-coupled configurations, the systems offer up to 94% efficiency, 12,000-cycle lifespan, and scalable storage capacities. Using sodium iron phosphate pyrophosphate (NFPP) cells, they eliminate reliance on lithium, cobalt, and nickel.
