The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) issued revised guidelines from June 12, 2023, for prototype wind turbine installation to enhance testing and certification. Manufacturers must obtain type certification from accredited agencies, with the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) as the nodal authority.
