MNRE Reviews 1 GW Wind Tender Strategy

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is re-evaluating plans to float tenders for 1 GW wind energy projects due to rising steel prices and lower bidder interest. The government is consulting the World Bank and think tanks to boost wind sector investments. Meanwhile, it is developing a new policy to promote small hydro projects up to 25 MW and exploring financial support for manufacturing key solar module components such as ingots and wafers in India.
