The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued new guidelines for prototype wind turbines, allowing a maximum of three years to obtain type certification. The turbines will be installed solely for type testing and certification by accredited agencies, managed by the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE).
