Finnish battery specialist Merus Power will deliver a grid-forming battery energy storage system (BESS) in Rovaniemi, Lapland, by 2026. Designed to withstand extreme Arctic conditions down to –50°C, the project includes a turnkey operations and maintenance agreement with Neve Oy. The system will enhance grid stability and flexibility, supporting multiple electricity markets.
