Keralam government will establish a 2,000 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Kayamkulam in Alappuzha in collaboration with NTPC to address electricity shortages. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced the decision after meeting NTPC officials in New Delhi with Electricity Minister Sunny Joseph.
