Kannur International Airport Limited (KIAL) has proposed a 100-MW solar project on land reserved for a future second runway. The project could generate clean power, support Kerala’s peak-hour electricity needs and create revenue from currently underused land. Government approval is awaited before inviting an Expression of Interest.
