Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched India’s first fleet of electric heavy trucks with swappable batteries at JNPA, deploying 50 trucks and aiming for 80 by 2025. JNPA plans to electrify 90% of its 600-truck fleet by 2026. A battery swapping station was commissioned. This initiative supports India’s net-zero 2070 goal, Maritime India Vision 2030, and Green Ports.
