Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has approved four new battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totaling 302 MW across Italy. The projects are located in Lombardy, Puglia, Piedmont and Veneto. The largest project is a 130 MW facility in Loreo proposed by Enfinity Global subsidiary EG Orchidea Srl.
