India’s Renewable Energy Capacity Reaches 291.73 GW by July 2026

As of 31 July 2026, India’s renewable energy capacity reached 291.73 GW, led by solar at 164.59 GW. Rajasthan and Gujarat are among the leading states, with 50.34 GW and 52.61 GW respectively, followed by Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Wind capacity stood at 58.14 GW, while large hydro contributed 52.
