India plans to implement stricter localization norms for EV manufacturers and public charging stations by April 2025, according to a draft regulation. This initiative requires OEMs to locally source key components to qualify for government subsidies under the PM e-DRIVE program. The new guidelines aim to reduce imports and promote domestic manufacturing while addressing previous subsidy issues.
