India aims to boost its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity to 74 GW by 2031-32, up from the current 205 MW, said Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at India Energy Storage Week 2025. With nearly 50% of its 472 GW generation capacity from renewables, India is emphasizing Energy Storage to ensure Grid Stability.
