India is planning a ₹13,000-crore incentive program to boost domestic manufacturing of advanced battery cell components and reduce reliance on Chinese imports. The proposed scheme targets five key components: anode and cathode materials, electrolytes, separator film and copper foil. The initiative aims to strengthen energy security, build a local battery supply chain and improve competitiveness against cheaper Chinese products.
