The Government of India has launched a ₹1,500 crore Critical Mineral Recycling Incentive Scheme to strengthen the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain and reduce dependence on imported battery materials. Announced by the Ministry of Coal and Mines, the scheme promotes recycling of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries to recover critical minerals like lithium, cobalt, and nickel.
