India and the European Union have launched a ₹169 crore joint initiative to strengthen electric vehicle (EV) battery recycling under the India-EU Trade and Technology Council. Supported by the EU’s Horizon Europe programme and India’s Ministry of Heavy Industries, the initiative will develop advanced recycling technologies, digital collection systems, and pilot-scale projects.
