Exide Industries Ltd invested an additional INR 100 crore in its lithium-ion battery arm, Exide Energy Solutions Ltd (EESL), increasing total investment to INR 3,702.23 crore. EESL, fully owned by Exide, focuses on manufacturing lithium-ion battery cells for electric vehicles and storage. The new capital will fund a 12 GWh greenfield manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, with Phase I (6 GWh) production starting by FY 2025-26 end.
