India must scale Energy Storage from 6 GW to 97 GW by 2032 to ensure a reliable clean energy transition, says a UC Berkeley–Power Foundation study. This ₹3–4 lakh crore investment could save consumers ₹60,000 crore annually. Battery and pumped hydro storage will help meet peak demand, reduce coal overbuild, and stabilize the grid.
