India is actively promoting electric vehicles (EVs), with over 45 lakh registered EVs. Efforts include increasing charging stations and advancing technology. C-DAC (T) and VNIT Nagpur developed an indigenous 1.5 kW wireless charger that charges 90% of a 4.8 kWh battery in three hours. The technology, featuring safety protections, has been transferred to an Indian firm.
