Ignitis Group and Olana Energy have advanced major battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Lithuania. Ignitis ordered 291MW/582MWh of BESS equipment from Rolls-Royce for three sites linked to renewable plants, with commissioning set for 2027. Olana Energy made its first final investment decision (FID) outside Finland for a 70MW/140MWh BESS in Šalčininkai, due online in Q4 2026.
