The Centre is looking at options, such as some sort of financial backing, to protect providers of electric buses from state transportation agencies' payment problems. Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a division of the state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), announced a 5,000 crore supply contract, but important private parties showed little interest in it.
