Five companies—Hyundai, Kia, LGES, Samsung SDI, and SK On—have collaborated for a year in the “Battery Safety Task Force” to improve EV battery safety following a 2024 Incheon fire. They presented initial results and signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen cooperation, focusing on patents, digital battery passports, quality, and fire prevention.
