Indian Railways is launching its first hydrogen-powered train, developed at Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory for ₹136 crore. The zero-emission train, running on hydrogen fuel cells, will operate on the Jind–Sonipat route in Haryana, covering 356 km daily and carrying over 2,600 passengers. With a powerful 1,200 HP engine, it offers cleaner, quieter travel and aligns with India’s net-zero carbon goals.
