Hygenco Green Energies has commissioned a 200-tonne-per-year green hydrogen plant in Maharashtra to supply hydrogen and oxygen to Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (STL) for optical fibre glass production. Known as Project Photon Leap, this marks Hygenco’s third operational plant. The gases will be delivered via pipeline and are expected to cut STL’s preform facility emissions by 30%.
