Huawei has patented a sulphide-based solid-state battery promising 400–500 Wh/kg energy density—two to three times higher than lithium-ion cells. This battery aims for a 3,000-kilometre range and five-minute charging by doping sulphide electrolytes with nitrogen to improve stability and reduce side reactions.
