Hive Hydrogen South Africa is advancing a $5.8 billion green hydrogen project in the Eastern Cape, inviting 15 engineering firms from an initial 48 interested. A final investment decision is expected in Q3 2026, with production starting three years later in Coega. The plant aims to produce over 1 million tons of green ammonia annually for export to Japan and South Korea.
