Gujarat is drafting a dedicated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) policy to store surplus daytime solar power and supply it to the grid after sunset, improving renewable energy reliability and grid stability. The policy will establish technical, safety, cybersecurity and environmental standards while promoting storage-based business models, battery manufacturing and related investments.
