The New York Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES) approved the construction of the 500MW Cider Solar Farm by Hecate Energy and Greenbacker Renewable Energy. Greenbacker acquired the project in 2024, securing $950m in financing. The farm, spanning 2,500 acres, will be New York's largest solar project, generating 920,000 MWh annually, powering 120,000 homes.
