Goldwind Science & Technology Co Ltd has installed the first turbine at the 242 MW Phase 1 of the Overberg Wind Farm in South Africa. The project, owned by Red Rocket, will use 6.2 MW turbines and expand to 380 MW. Backed by a 20-year PPA with Rio Tinto Ltd subsidiary RBM, it aims for operations by 2027.
