GCF Approves $200 Million for India’s Clean Energy in India

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) approved $200 million for an Asian Development Bank (ADB)-led programme to boost clean energy investment in India. Announced at GCF’s 42nd Board meeting on July 1, the funding supports ADB’s India Green Finance Facility (IGFF), a blended finance initiative. IGFF aims to scale up climate action through concessional credit lines to India’s development finance institutions, promoting technologies like green hydrogen, electric transport, and decentralised renewables, helping India meet its 2070 net-zero emissions target.
