Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said India’s electric vehicle market could reach ₹20 lakh crore by 2030, potentially creating five crore jobs. He noted that 57 lakh EVs are currently registered, with market penetration at 7%. Gadkari highlighted strong growth opportunities, particularly in electric buses, where annual demand is around one lakh but domestic production remains 50,000-60,000 units.
