ENGIE has secured a 280 MW/560 MWh battery storage award in GUVNL’s 2 GW/4 GWh auction, marking its entry into India’s utility-scale storage and raising its national portfolio to 2.75 GW. The Gujarat BESS, built on a BOO model, will supply on-demand storage to strengthen renewable integration, reduce curtailment and support peak demand.
