The Finance Ministry’s Expenditure Finance Committee has approved a ₹5,500 crore scheme to promote floating solar projects integrated with battery energy storage systems, reducing the original ₹6,700 crore proposal by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The scheme will now be sent to the Union Cabinet for final approval.
