FICCI Proposes 700 MW PHWR Technology Transfer Framework to Boost Nuclear Growth

FICCI has proposed a structured framework for licensing and technology transfer of indigenous 700 MW Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) to private players, aiming to accelerate India’s nuclear capacity expansion and attract investment. It highlighted that standardised designs and clear guidelines would enable faster project deployment, improve project viability, and support mobilisation of large-scale capital.
