EWE has begun constructing a 320 MW hydrogen production plant in Emden, Germany, awarding civil engineering contracts to Ludwig Freytag, Gebrüder Neumann, and MBN. The plant, part of a production-storage-transport system, aims to produce green hydrogen for industry by late 2027. In Japan, Kawasaki and Japan Suiso Energy initiated the LH2 Terminal, the world’s largest liquefied hydrogen facility, targeting commercial operations in 2030.
