Octopus Energy Generation and ZE Energy have partnered to invest in Italy’s 95MW/895MWh Sessa Aurunca battery energy storage project, one of the country’s largest BESS developments. The project, supported by a 15-year MACSE contract, will begin construction in 2026 and is expected to be operational by 2028, strengthening grid flexibility as renewable penetration increases.
